Is Pirlo a precog? Watch him predict exact spot of Kaká free kick | Analyst

Kaka and Pirlo - Analyst

Andrea Pirlo's passing has sometimes been referred to as "prescient." He seems to see things before they happen.

Now we can safely say the same about his work defending free kicks. I'm beginning to think of the NYCFC star less as a human being, and more as one of the precogs from Minority Report.

I hate myself for not noticing that when it happened.

Anyway, the best part? If you look at the 9-second mark of the clip, he even pushes the wall to try to cover the gap where he knows Kaká is going to put his attempt. He knew the Brazilian wasn't going to try to go over, and that he would try to go around instead.

Of course, this is less precognition than just good scouting. Pirlo and Kaká were teammates together at AC Milan for seven seasons, after all, and it's a safe bet that they know each others' tendencies pretty thoroughly.

NYCFC beat Orlando City 5-3 on Sunday, with the final goal coming off a length-of-the-field counter after Kaká's above attempt caromed off the post. Pirlo probably saw that coming, too.
