Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month (April 2015)

The second month of the 2015 MLS season is in the books, and it is time to acknowledge April's best players.

The five candidates for the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month award all came up with several big-time performances. From scoring goals to delivering assists to helping record shutouts, they all did more than their part in April.

How it works: At the end of each month, the MLSsoccer.com editorial staff selects the five final nominees. These are then put to a vote among you, the fans. Voting for the April POTM will be open until 11:59 pm PT, Saturday, May 2.

Here are the nominees:

Andew Farrell, New England Revolution — The Revolution backline posted three shutouts in four games, and Farrell was a big part of that. The New England center back played all 360 minutes and helped them surrender just one goal in that stretch while going 3-0-1 and moving into a tie for first place.

Benny Feilhaber, Sporting Kansas City — The veteran midfielder capped off a strong month with a clutch two-goal outing, but he was also very involved in creating goals. Feilhaber had three assists to go along with his first two tallies of the season and played all 360 minutes in April for Sporting KC.

Ethan Finlay, Columbus Crew SC — After a relatively quiet first month to the season, Finlay picked up his production in April. He scored two goals, both in this past weekend's rout of the Philadelphia Union, and notched three assists in four starts for a Crew SC side that went undefeated this month.

Sebastian Giovinco, Toronto FC — The Reds played only three games this month, but Giovinco represented in each of them. The Designated Player showed what he is capable of, scoring three times and setting up two others. He was involved in all but one of Toronto FC's goals in April.

Kei Kamara, Columbus Crew SC — Like his nominated teammate, Kamara kicked it up into another level in Columbus' four matches in Apri. He scored four goals, including two in back-to-back games, and also chipped in with two assists to lead the club's front line.
