Shuttleworth, Deric, Seitz? Who will be your pick for MLS Save of the Week?

Save of the Week: Week 2

There were no shortage of standout saves in Week 2 of Major League Soccer’s 2015 season, with goalkeepers around the league making quality stops over the weekend.

We’ve nominated five of the best for Save of the Week. Now it’s up to you to decide who takes home the honors.

Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric will not want to remember Friday's 1-0 loss to Orlando City, but his marvelous save on Kaká’s free kick deserves a second (and third, and fourth) look. Farther north in Texas, FC Dallas’ Chris Seitz is nominated for his penalty-kick stop on Sporting KC’s Dom Dwyer that helped preserve a second consecutive Dallas victory.

On the East Coast, New England’s Bobby Shuttleworth is in the running for his denial of an upper-90 shot by NYCFC’s David Villa, while Shuttleworth's opposite number in that game, Josh Saunders, is nominated for stopping Juan Agudelo from close range and keeping the loose ball from crossing the goal line. Finally, Toronto FC goalkeeper Joe Bendik is nominated for his quick reflexes to use his right hand and block Kei Kamara's shot from extremely close range in TFC's 2-0 loss to Columbus Crew SC.

Close-range reflexes or full-extension dives? Take your pick and vote for your favorite save from MLS Week 2. The winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday. For complete coverage of the MLS Save of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners –click here.
