A massive match in the Western Conference is set when Vancouver Whitecaps FC play host to Real Salt Lake on Saturday evening at BC Place. Whitecaps FC have moved back atop the conference, winning a second consecutive league game last weekend with a 3-0 win at Seattle Sounders FC. Real find themselves three points out of sixth place and the final playoff position in the division, after their wild 6-4 defeat at D.C. United last weekend to kick off a long road swing.

  • Pa-Modou Kah scored his first two goals with Whitecaps FC, leading his club to a 3-0 win against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday evening. It was Vancouver’s third consecutive league win at CenturyLink Field, one in each of the last three seasons.
  • Real Salt Lake equaled their MLS club record, conceding six goals in the 6-4 defeat by D.C. United at RFK Stadium on Saturday evening. RSL had lost 6-0 at the New York Red Bulls, Aug. 26, 2006.
  • The teams will come into the match having played CONCACAF Champions League matches at midweek, Whitecaps FC playing host to Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday at BC Place, and Real having a trip to Guatemala to face CSD Municipal.
