After a tough start to the season that left them adrift at the bottom of the overall standings, FC Montreal continued their recent uptick in form, grabbing two wins last week in USL play.
The first year team, owned by the Montreal Impact, grabbed two huge wins on the road, first stunning Louisville City FC 4-0 in midweek action before following that up with a 3-1 win over Saint Louis FC on Saturday. Alessandro Riggi and Fabio Morelli both had two goals for the week. The result keeps Philippe Eullaffroy's men out of the basement, in 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
In other action, in the only MLS 2 vs. MLS 2 game of the week, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 continued their strong form this season against Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC 2 by grabbing a 3-0 win at Starfire Stadium on Saturday. Two on-loan players from the 'Caps, Marco Bustos and Andre Lewis, scored the goals on the night for the visitors.
The loss helped push S2 down from their perch atop the Western Conference standings, alongside LA Galaxy II, who went 0-for-2 for the week, losing 2-0 to OKC Energy on Tuesday and 2-1 to Arizona United on Sunday, both at home. Both OKC and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks move ahead of LA and Seattle in the standings.
