The Vancouver Whitecaps may have added yet another Uruguayan, with Uruguayan journalist Julio César Gard reporting on Wednesday that the Canadian club have signed 22-year-old winger Cristian Techera.
Techera has spent his entire career in Uruguay's first division with River Plate Montevideo, racking up 17 goals in 72 appearances in five seasons with the club.
He would be the fifth Uruguayan to join the ‘Caps since head coach Carl Robinson took over ahead of the 2014 season, joining offseason additions Octavio Rivero and Diego Rodriguez and winger Nicolas Mezquida in Vancouver. Ex-Whitecap Sebastian Fernandez joined Vancouver ahead of the 2014 season but left the club this winter.
