Toronto FC's Jozy Altidore to co-host an episode of Canadian SportsCentre

Jozy Altidore - Toronto FC - Fist pump

Jozy Altidore is best-known for his exploits on the soccer field, but the Toronto FC man is going to make a brief foray into the world of broadcasting with a one-day stint as a co-host on TSN's SportsCentre on Wednesday.

Per a release from TSN, Altidore will join regular host Rod Smith and will handle all the regular responsibilities on the desk, including reading off highlight reels, interviewing guests and breaking down TSN's top 10 plays.

"Jozy is a proven competitor season after season with TFC and his [United States] national team." TSN vice president Nathalie Cook said. "If he brings the same dedication and work ethic to the broadcast studio as he does to the soccer field, he'll have no problem being teammates with Rod. We are thrilled to add him to our talent roster, even for one day!"

Altidore should have a few more good years left on the pitch, but if he proves to hold his own behind the mic, maybe this will give a first glimpse at a career pursuit for his post-playing days.

"He's great on the pitch, I just hope that translate in front of the camera," TSN MLS analyst Kristian Jack said. "Or maybe I don't — I don't want to be out of a job. We'll just have to tune in to find out."
