Back together again in the Western Conference, Sporting Kansas City and the Colorado Rapids meet for the first time this season when the clubs face off Saturday evening at Sporting Park. SKC returns home after their seven-game undefeated run was put to an end last weekend in a 2-1 loss at Real Salt Lake. The Rapids are continuing their road swing after seeing their current winless run extended to five games in a 2-0 loss at Orlando City SC at midweek.

  • Benny Felihaber collected his eighth assist of the season – his first since May 20, setting up Dom Dwyer’s fifth goal of the year, his first since that same game – in SKC’s 2-1 defeat at Real Salt Lake that snapped a seven-game undefeated run in league play. Feilhaber is tied for the MLS lead with eight assists.
  • Sporting have not lost to the Rapids since a 2-1 Colorado win March 28, 2009 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, including a 3-2 win last March 29 in Commerce City in the only meeting between the teams. Since then, KC is 3-0-5 vs. Colorado.
  • The Rapids haven’t won in Kansas City since 2002, a 2-1 win at Arrowhead Stadium. Since, Kansas City is 8-0-4 at home vs. Colorado, including a 2-1 win at Sporting Park in 2013 in the last meeting there.
