San Jose Earthquakes forward Innocent will miss four to six months the team announced Thursday after he underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee suffered in the team’s May 1 match against Real Salt Lake.


According to the team, the procedure was performed at Stanford Hospital by Dr. Zack Vaughn.


Innocent, a Swiss international who signed this offseason as a Designated Player, appeared in seven of the Quakes' first eight matches this season (six starts). His lone goal, a strike in Week 2 against the Seattle Sounders, won the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week.
