TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Minnesota United fans have heard this before, but another report out of Argentina suggests the Loons are on the verge of signing Boca Juniors midfielder Emanuel “Bebelo” Reynoso.

Reports at the beginning of July indicated the long-running negotiations were still ongoing, with head coach Adrian Heath confirming as much. Now, in the latest report from TyC Sports, some specific numbers have been reported.

Several Argentine clubs hold the 24-year-old’s rights, which has further complicated matters, but it appears Reynoso’s transfer has cleared all the necessary hurdles.

The outlet reports Minnesota United increased its initial offer by $500K, from $4.7M to $5.2M with Boca Juniors able to come to agreement on what percentage Reynoso’s previous clubs would receive.

TyC's latest report indicates that Reynoso will sign with the Loons through 2025, though it is unclear what the breakdown of guaranteed and option years would like like. The report also indicates deal could be finalized in the coming days, allowing the Argentine giants the ability to address their own needs at center back and left midfield.

The sides were also reportedly close to reaching an agreement in February, but couldn't get a deal across the line.

Reynoso is in his third year with Boca and has a contract that expires in 2022. He has five goals and eight assists in 66 appearances for the Argentine giants following a move from Club Atletico Talleres.
