Chicago Fire forward Przemyslaw Frankowski is being linked to a reunion with former Fire head coach Veljko Paunovic at Reading, but his current head coach Raphael Wicky has made it clear that he'd rather Frankowski stay put.

Speaking to media ahead of the Fire's weekend match at the Montreal Impact, Wicky was asked about a transfer rumor that would see Frankowski head to England. In no uncertain terms, Wicky demonstrated he values the Poland native.

This week, Polish outlet Przeglad Sportwy said Paunovic, who was with the Fire from 2015 to 2019 and joined Reading over the summer, was keen on bringing the player to England a year after signing him for the Fire. However, with the English transfer deadline just days away on October 5, it may not just be Chicago's lack of interest in selling that would get in the way of a potential move for Frankowski.
