Union part ways with Rais Mbolhi by mutual consent

Philadelphia Union and Algeria goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi

The Philadelphia Union announced on Monday that the club has terminated the contract of goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi by mutual consent.

The Algerian international did not take long to settle at a new home, signing on with Turkish side Antalyaspor – home of Cameroonian star Samuel Eto'o – on the same day.

Mbolhi originally joined the club on July 30, 2014 in the wake of his solid performances at the World Cup in Brazil.

He made his debut in a 4-2 win over San Jose on Aug. 24, but endured a difficult stint in Philadelphia overall, compiling a 1-4-4 record in nine starts over two seasons for the Union and training on his own during the latter stages of his time with the club.
