Kaká has made a fairly smooth transition into Major League Soccer, and Brazil manager Dunga has taken notice.
The Orlando City SC star was added to Brazil’s preliminary 30-man Copa América roster early Tuesday morning, putting him in contention to represent his country at this summer’s tournament in Chile.
Kaká, who has 29 goals in 87 career caps for the Seleção, was one of seven players just added to the squad Dunga announced a week ago. Final 23-man rosters must be submitted to CONMEBOL by June 1.
The playmaker has bagged three goals and an assist in nine MLS matches to date. If the Lions’ star Designated Player makes the final cut, he would be away for at least three of Orlando’s league matches, and should Brazil make a run to the tournament final, could miss as many as six games.
Brazil open their Copa América campaign vs. Peru in Temuco, Chile on June 14, and also meet Colombia and Venezuela in Group C play. The Seleção have scheduled warmup friendlies vs. Honduras and Mexico on June 7 and June 10, respectively.

South America's biggest international tournament, Copa América will take place June 11 through July 4 this year and will qualify one of CONMEBOL's teams for the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. The tournament includes 10 CONMEBOL nations and two invitees from CONCACAF, which will be Mexico and Jamaica this time around.
Brazil have won four of the last six editions of the event, though Uruguay are the current title holders.
