Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath praises Brek Shea in lengthy Q&A with Orlando Sentinel

Heath: Healthy Shea “will be one of the best players" in MLS

Orlando City SC head coach Adrian Heath reflected on the Lions’ first season in MLS in a lengthy Q&A with the Orlando Sentinel’s Paul Tenorio published on Tuesday, sharing his thoughts on the club’s adjustment to a new league, his hopes for next year and his feelings about a certain US international.

Heath spoke in depth about Orlando defender/midfielder Brek Shea, praising the versatile 25-year-old following his solid – if slightly injury-marred – 2015.

"When he’s healthy he makes a difference from anywhere he plays because of just his physical attributes,” Heath said. "You don’t get people his size being as athletic and as good a footballer. I don’t think people realize how good a footballer he is.

"What we’ve got to do now is hopefully he gets some time off during the [winter] to recharge, get ready and come in and have a great preseason,” continued Heath. "I still think he’s about 70 percent. I think we can get him up to 90, 95 percent and if he does, he’ll be one of the best players in the league."
