The New England Revolution have signed forward Timi Mulgrew, the club announced on Wednesday. Undrafted out of college, Mulgrew appeared in all six of New England's preseason games and tallied one assist.
A native of Virginia, Mulgrew played four years of college soccer at George Mason University, scoring 26 goals and adding 12 assists in 74 games for the Patriots. He scored a career-best 13 goals as a senior in 2014, including seven game-winning goals, which were tied for the most in NCAA Division I at the end of the regular season.
"It's a dream come true," Mulgrew said in a video on the club's website (see above). "As a kid, watching MLS, I've always dreamt of being here. … For me, the journey's just been exciting and challenging, but that's why you're here: to be challenged, to be better, to find out how much potential you have."
A first team all-Atlantic 10 selection as a senior, Mulgrew helped lead the Patriots win the A-10 Tournament and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament during his junior season in 2013, matching George Mason’s best postseason finish since 1982.
