Toronto FC goalkeeper Chris Konopka has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for endangering the safey of an opponent in Toronto’s match on Sunday against New York City FC, the MLS Disciplinary Committee announced on Wednesday.
Konopka slid into NYCFC's Andoni Iraola in the 59th minute of the match in an incident that went unpunished by the officiating crew (video above).
In addition, New York Red Bulls midfielder Lloyd Sam was fined an undisclosed amount for embellishment in the 34th minute of New York’s match against New England on Saturday (VIDEO).
Also fined an undisclosed amount for embellishment was Vancouver Whitecaps defender Kendall Waston for an 88th minute incident during Vancouver’s match against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday (VIDEO).
