The globetrotting career of ex-US men’s national team midfielder Mix Diskerud continues, with his latest stop coming at Swedish first-division side Helsingborg IF. Diskerud, who’s on the books at Premier League club Manchester City, is on a short-term loan after Saturday’s announcement.

Born in Norway, Diskerud previously spent part of the 2018 season in Sweden at IFK Goteborg before moving to South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai. In a recent story with MLSsoccer.com contributor Greg Seltzer, the 29-year-old reinforced his desire to see the world.

"I feel like I've got some unfinished business there [in MLS]," Diskerud said. "Whether it comes to me playing in the States in the future, I do not know. I've enjoyed traveling the world, and maybe I might keep trying new continents. South America would be pretty interesting, no?"

Diskerud spent the 2015 and ‘16 seasons at NYCFC as the Eastern Conference club first entered MLS. He recorded four goals and three assists across 39 appearances, then got loaned to IFK Goteborg for the 2017 campaign.

At the USMNT level, Diskerud has six goals through 38 matches. He last featured during a 2016 World Cup qualifier against Guatemala.
