LA Galaxy forward Giovani Dos Santos will be honored with the Excellence in Sports Award at the Latinos de HOY Awards on Sunday at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., the team announced Thursday.
Dos Santos will receive the award for his commitment to the well being of Latinos – of all backgrounds – in the Los Angeles community through his athletic efforts, sharing the sport with a Mexican and American audience.
The annual Latinos de HOY Awards, hosted by the LA Times and HOY, is a bilingual/bicultural event to honor those in the Latino community who exemplify leadership, service and a dedication to setting an example for their peers and the next generation.
