MLS is Back Tournament - what's at stake - simple for exlink

It's a jam-packed day of the MLS is Back Tournament on Thursday, with all four teams in Group C taking the pitch. Here's your pregame breakdown of all the teams that will be facing off, and what's on the line as the clubs look to make their way to the Knockout Stage.

Montreal Impact vs. Toronto FC

8:00 pm ET – FS1, TUDN in US; TSN in Canada

Group C continues on Thursday with a Canadian Classique bout between Montreal and Toronto -- a matchup that always promises to deliver when it comes to intensity and drama. Aside from the obvious rivalry implications and bragging rights on the line, the match also presents an opportunity for two teams searching for their first win of the tournament after deflating results in their first game. Toronto had D.C. United on the ropes 2-0 and down to 10 men in the second of their opener, but were unable to close it out, letting the undermanned D.C. side come back and salvage a miracle draw. Montreal had a tough matchup against the New England Revolution that they eventually lost 1-0 on a stunner from Gustavo Bou. There's no better way to bounce back than a rivalry victory, so expect both teams to be getting after it.

Columbus Crew SC vs. New York Red Bulls

10:30 PM ET – FS1, TUDN in US; TSN in Canada

Columbus probably had the most dominant showing of any team in their first game in that demolition of FC Cincy, with Caleb Porter's side certainly having the look of a juggernaut. RBNY's defense presents a different challenge, however, so it will be very interesting to see if the Crew can translate those fireworks over. In the same vein, RBNY will be feeling good after getting the win over Atlanta, but they now have to deal with a team that has emerged as one of the favorites. Either way, it'll be fascinating to see how it plays out.
