AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Can Techera hold off Giovinco?

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 25

It has been a good few days for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

They got an important win over FC Dallas on Saturday night and won the Amway Canadian Championship on Wednesday night, and now one of their players is winning AT&T Goal of the Week voting.

Cristian Techera's backheel winner currently owns 34.53 percent of the vote, 10 percentage points more than Sebastian Giovinco's direct free kick. The Toronto FC star is currently in second place and seeking his second Goal of the Week award in three weeks.

Sporting Kansas City's Graham Zusi sits in third with 19.79 percent of the ballots, followed by Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes. New York City FC's Kwadwo Poku is pulling up the rear with 6.22 percent of the vote.

Can Techera hold off Giovinco? Or will the MVP candidate make a charge to win the award yet again? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here
