While the Vancouver Whitecaps remain in search of goals, former midfielder Hwang In-beom has wasted little time in finding the net for his new club.

The South Korea international scored just two minutes after coming on as a halftime substitute to help Rubin Kazan to a 3-0 victory over FC Ufa in Russian Premier League action on Wednesday.

The goal was his first since arriving at the club following a transfer from Vancouver earlier this month, in his second appearance after a 12-minute cameo in Kazan's 2-1 win over CSKA Moscow on Saturday.

Hwang had three goals and three assists during his one complete MLS season in 2019, and had one assist for Vancouver in the MLS is Back Tournament prior to his transfer. He was sold for $3 million to Kazan, with a 25% sell-on fee, according to MLSsoccer.com's Tom Bogert, making him the second most valuable outgoing transfer in club history behind the deal that sent Alphonso Davies to Bayern Munich.
