June 3, 2015 (WEEK 14, MLS Game #134)
7 pm ET (MLS LIVE)

Two long-time rivals in the Eastern Conference meet for the first time this season when D.C. United play host to the Chicago Fire on Wednesday evening at RFK Stadium. United returned home last weekend and put an end to their three-game winless skid, coming back for a 2-1 win against Philadelphia Union. The Fire put an end to a four-game winless run of their own, rolling to a 3-0 victory against a 10-man Montréal Impact on Saturday evening at Toyota Park.

  • United won for the first time since May 13, coming back to claim a 2-1 win against Philadelphia Union at RFK Stadium on Saturday evening as Chris Rolfe converted a late penalty kick for the winner.
  • The Fire won for the first time since April 24 as Kennedy Igboananike scored a goal and set up another in a 3-0 win against the Montréal Impact at Toyota Park on Saturday evening.
  • United won the last meeting between the teams last year – a 2-1 win at RFK Stadium on Oct. 18 – their first victory against the Fire in seven tries. The last previous United win in the series came Aug. 22, 2012 at RFK Stadium, a 4-2 triumph. The first two meetings a year ago ended in draws.
  • The Fire have won on three of their last six trips to the nation’s capital, with one draw, over the last five seasons. United last won at Toyota Park on Aug. 29, 2009, a 1-0 victory.
