Columbus Crew SC announced on Wednesday morning one additional player tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, per MLS protocol. No other additional positive tests were received for players or staff at the time.

The Crew will continue to administer COVID-19 testing each day this week and remain in regular communication with Major League Soccer and local health authorities ahead of the Eastern Conference Final against the New England Revolution Sunday (3 pm ET | TV & streaming info) at MAPFRE Stadium.

The player tested positive Monday night and Tuesday’s testing on the team off day returned zero positives across players and staff. In consultation with medical experts and MLS, the Crew will not hold team training Wednesday as the team’s training facility undergoes sanitization.

Upon return, the team will restrict indoor access to the facility for players to limit interaction to on-field training.

That increases the number of positive tests to eight since November 22. Those players remain in isolation where they are monitored by the club's medical staff.
