Bob Bradley and Bruce Arena, the two US national team head coaches prior to Jurgen Klinsmann, now rank among the top 50 managers in the world, according to FourFourTwo.
Bradley, currently the head coach of Stabaek in Norway, came in at number 24 on the website and magazine's list. That rank comes after he led his club to ninth place, rather than relegation, where most thought they would land. This season, Bradley's taken Stabek to second place, just five points behind Norwegian powerhouse Rosenborg.
This follows his stint with USMNT from 2006 to 2011, and a trying but inspiring time with the Egyptian national team from 2011 to 2014. Before all that, he also coached MLS teams like the Chicago Fire and Chivas USA.
FourFourTwo profiled Bradley, and the coach explained how he's dealt with all the moving parts on his teams throughout the years. "I still try to figure out, with the group of players we have, how to take advantages of their strengths," he said.
LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena also appeared on the list, claiming the number 46 spot. Arena's expoits are well-known to MLS fans--he's won five MLS Cups and three Supporters' Shields in his time with D.C. United and the LA Galaxy. Arena also led USA to the quarterfinals of the World Cup back in 2002.
Another name on the list with which MLS fans are familiar is former Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio. The current Sao Paulo coach made number 49 on the list after a fruitful stay at Atletico Nacional in his native Colombia.
