GOTW Update: Javier Morales leads with long-range half-volley

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 20

Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales scored another outstanding goal for Real Salt Lake last Saturday night.

Ho-hum.

The veteran No. 10 has made a habit of scoring excellent goals in his MLS career, with Saturday's long-range half-volley the latest in a long string of jaw-dropping strikes. The goal currently leads AT&T Goal of the Week voting for Week 20, holding 35.01 percent of the vote so far, narrowly edging out Matias Laba's goal for the Vancouver Whitecaps, which sits at 27.07 percent.

Another long-range strike, this one from New York Red Bulls midfielder Sacha Kljestan, sits in third with 21.1 percent of the vote. The New England Revolution's Lee Nguyen is currently in fourth place with 11.8 percent of the vote and FC Dallas' Fabian Castillo rounds out the field with 5.02 percent.

Can Morales take home his second Goal of the Week honor of the season? Or will Laba or Kljestan catch him? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
